Curious about the performance of Sheex sheets? Wondering if they justify their price and effectively regulate your body temperature? Dive into our review for answers!

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could cover your bed with the same material that your sport’s clothes are made out of? Imagine how cooling that would be for your body and how you would never have to wake up a sweaty mess again. For people who are hot sleepers, just making it through the night without waking up hot and sweaty is a victory.

It’s something that sports coaches know well and the reason that a couple of coaches developed Sheex bed sheets in the first place. The aim was to create performance sheets that felt soft and comfy, but that were also cooling to the skin.

But the Sheex are performance sheets really all they are cracked up to be? Why don’t we have a look and see?

Sheex Sheets – Key Features

  • The luxury copper set contains copper within the fabric to help your skin rejuvenate itself and for the ions that it releases. These are believed to have anti-oxidant properties.
  • Very smooth and incredibly soft.
  • Lightweight.
  • Available in 7 colors.
  • Sizes from Twin to Cal King.
  • Wrinkle-resistant.
  • Can be machine-washed and dried if you use the right settings.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Very lightweight.
  • Has cooling properties.
  • Excellent at drawing moisture away from your skin.
  • No wrinkles.
  • Extremely soft to the touch.
  • The potential anti-oxidant properties of the copper ions.

Cons:

  • Price – these are on the more expensive side.
  • Completely synthetic fabric.
  • These have a very non-traditional feel that can take some getting used to.

Material/Style

The Sheex sheets comprise of 90% polyester with cotton in it and 10% Spandex. This makes it very stretchy, and so it fits the bed well. It is also a good option if you prefer smooth sheets – these don’t wrinkle easily. The fabric is of good quality, and the style is very simple and elegant. The range of color choices make it easy to find something that will match your existing bedding.

The material is woven in a looser pattern to facilitate stretch and to improve breathability.

The elastic used on the fitted sheet is of high quality and keeps the sheet in its proper place throughout the night.

Build Quality

The construction is exceptional. The Sheex bed sheets are not cheap, but you can see where your money has gone when looking at the stitching and high-quality finish.

This is not something that has been thrown together with the cheapest brand of polyester the manufacturer could find. The stitching is done well and is strong, giving it a polished appearance.

The Spandex makes the linen stretch well and keeps it snugly in place on your bed. The elastic banding is very strong and will not wear out very soon. This is excellent if you are active at night and don’t want the sheet to keep coming off the bed.

Durability

The materials that this product is made of are not prone to shrinkage. If there is any at all, it will be negligible as long as you follow the care instructions – that means no bleach, washing on the cold cycle, no fabric softener and letting it air dry or using the very coolest setting on your dryer.

The significant advantage of polyester is that it is very durable. This, in conjunction with the high-quality finish, bodes well for the durability of these sheets.

Weight

The weave of the fabric is looser, and this makes it very lightweight. It will move easily with your body as you move at night. It will not weigh you down. In fact, some people claim that you hardly notice that it is there anymore because it is so light.

And, while it is very absorbent, it is not very heavy when you have washed it either. This can be a problem with some of your natural fibers. Another advantage to the type of fabric used here is that it does dry a lot more quickly than natural fibers would.

Feel and Comfort

Buyers describe Sheex as the softest sheets that they have ever used. The feel is something like silk and can take some getting used to, especially if you are used to sleeping on cotton.

The real advantage here is that it has excellent thermo-regulation properties. The weave of the fabric allows for air to circulate freely so heat is not trapped inside. Contrary to what you would expect from polyester, these sheets have good cooling properties.

The other significant benefit is in how it deals with sweat from your body. There is no question that the most significant advantage with sport’s fabrics is that they are able to prevent moisture being trapped next to your skin. This is also the case here.

Price/Value

Get yourself ready; these are in the high end when it comes to price point. What you have to look at, though, are the unique benefits of the product. The sheets are soft, will keep you cool and are durable. They keep their shape well over time and will last for a long time. So, while they cost a lot to start off with, they do offer reasonable value for money because of improved sleep quality and performance.

Who Should Buy The Sheex?

  • Those who have problems with cool sleeping at night – The material is a knit weave to ensure that there is plenty of space for the air to move in and out. This keeps you much cooler at night.
  • You sweat a lot at night – When you have a problem with excessive sweating at night, you need bedding that is cool, and that can pull the moisture away from the surface of your skin. That way you get a more comfortable and drier night’s sleep.
  • You want a sheet that is not going to come off easily – The elastic band holds the Sheex sheets firmly on the bed. The stretch of the material itself helps it to move as you change position.
  • You are looking for something that will last well – The polyester used here is very durable. All you need to do is to keep it away from excessive heat when cleaning the sheets and it will hold up well.

Who Shouldn’t Buy The Sheex

  • You get bad sticker shock – These are a more expensive option and so will not suit everyone’s budget.
  • You want all-natural fibers – There is not a single natural fiber used here so if that is what you want, these are not for you.
  • You have rough skin – The material may snag against rough skin, so if this is an issue for you, these may not be the right choice.
  • You want something that is indestructible in the wash – This holds up to washing well but you must use the right cleaning products, and this means NO bleach ever.
  • You are forgetful about how to separate out your washing – Using the hot cycle on the tumble dryer is not advisable and nor is using fabric softener. If you are the type of person, who might forget that, it is best to look for something else.

Conclusion

Thes Sheex sheets are wholly unique and designed with an eye on improving sleep performance. Considering that the idea was developed by two professional coaches, it does make sense to use the polyester/ spandex combination in this way. It certainly is not the traditional approach to sleeping cooler, but it does seem to be effective. The absorbent nature of the material also makes it extremely useful for keeping you drier at night, and this can be extremely important if it is very hot or if you sweat excessively.

The price is the only real negative issue with this bedding, but it is a high-end product, so you do expect to have to pay extra for it. Over the long haul, the benefits would outweigh the initial cost, though.
