's global survey says 7% of office workers are now fully remote (and 56% hybrid). #RemoteManagement requires a (slightly) different approach. What do you do differently?

Good company culture doesn't happen by accident. It's often designed and nurtured by leaders who learn how to improve company culture and work consistently to drive change. #HandsOnManagement #LivingSystems

A fundamental time to set expectations (per the below), is on an individuals return from parental leave. - Clearly articulating the organisations goals - which are likely to have evolved- Setting out the expectations of the role and individuals deliverables - Clearly agreeing what success looks like togetherThree things that can have a significant impact for returners. Any wonder why veterans have a tough time finding a sense of purpose in their new careers? Seems we're not the only ones.My experience in the civilian work world correlates with the data. Also, this phenomenon negatively impacts employee engagement for those who stay in their role, the results of which makes for a poor work environment among other things.Employers, veterans who have successfully landed, and others who espouse their desire to be 'leaders' - be part of the solution!- Set expectations. Communicate them. - Work through and disconnects/misunderstandings to gain agreement.- Help people understand how they and their efforts add value.- Provide meaningful, timely feedback. Recognize success. Address misses.- Iterate. Adjust. Improve. It matters.Be well. Keep up the fire.

Effective communication results in an employee who is engaged, invested, and never surprised by a performance discussion. Role expectations should be discussed as early as an interview and certainly clearly established during the first days of the employee’s orientation. Ongoing dialogue between that employee and their manager should continue throughout the year.A great “pulse check” is to have both employee and manager jot out their version of the job description and compare the two. If they aren’t on the same page, and the employee is a fit for the role, it’s the leader’s responsibility to course-correct that situation in a positive manner.

Having a sense of direction within a role is crucial in determining how best to distribute your time and energy🔋This is why I recommend: 1. Asking your manager what their main priorities are for the department and your role. This will deepen your understanding and help you recognize ways that you can add value to the work your team is doing. 2. Documenting and tracking your current tasks to support the provision of regular updates. By making your manager aware of what’s on your plate, you can collaborate on determining what’s of greatest focus. HR can support teams by considering conducting more frequent job analyses and developing team charters. How can someone reasonably execute within a role if they are unaware of what is expected of them? #HR #jobanalysis #teamcharters

Having clear expectations is a basic and fundamental employee need. And clear expectations is correlated with employee engagement according to Gallup's research. And employee engagement is correlated with productivity and retention. I say it all the time, but nonprofits can find creative and even basic ways to unlock employee engagement, even with limited resources. But you need to have someone thinking about it. If you don't know how or where to start, let's talk. #peoplemattermost #hr #employeeengagement #gallup

As Team Leaders, we often thing expectations have been clearly communicated.but the survey results tell another story. Behavioral expectations are often missed and usually a key ingredient to success! Ask your team members what they believe are the expectations of the position and then clarify and align.

❗Only 50% of employees know what is expected from them at work?? ❗Mistakes leaders make:- Assuming their team already knows - Shying away from being a visionary - Afraid of being vulnerable (and wrong)- Saying it, but the message not being heard. It's not easy to communicate clear expectations. It requires using emotional intelligence to adapt your communication style to each person on your team, and active listening to ensure what you say has actually been received 🗣️👂🏽These are CRUCIAL skills for every leader to possess - coaching helps 💪🏽Get in touch 📆#management #leadership #personaldevelopment #personalgrowth #leadershipdevelopment
